Hey guys!

So I've just cleared a lot of inactive accounts and I know a lot of people have questions, so I figured I'd just really quick do a FAQ here so that everyone could have an easy reference.

FYI, I try to do account clears regularly, but due to various circumstances haven't done one in over 6 months, so this was a pretty big one. Account clears are based off of the Inactivity rule found in our Site Rules. Any accounts that have not been posted in since November 4th, 2017 have been deleted.

WHY DO ACTIVITY CLEARS?
It keeps the board clean, clears up face claims, and gets rid of inactive characters and plots that may be holding other players back.

HOW OFTEN ARE THEY DONE?
There is no specific time. Any characters who have not posted in over 90 days may be deleted at any time, so it is best to make sure your characters do not near the time limit.

WHAT POSTS DO AND DO NOT COUNT?
ONLY In-Character posts count. That means if you post in games, discussions, credit claim, away messages, etc. it does not count toward being active.

MY CHARACTER WAS DELETED, BUT I POSTED AN AWAY MESSAGE.
Away messages exist to let friends and RP partners know you might be slow for awhile. They do not in any way affect your accounts or their activity. We do feel that a full three months is enough time to allow people to put out at least one post, especially as we do not have a minimum word count. (This is not to say to abuse the fact that we have no minimum word count rule, only that the posts do not have to be LONG posts.)

MY CHARACTER WAS DELETED, BUT I STILL WANT THEM. WHAT DO I DO?
You may reapply with your character after 30 days. They will essentially be a BRAND NEW character, meaning that they need to use a new application and follow current rules. Their new application must be an updated version and cannot simply be a copy/pasted version of their old one. Also, as the things we look for in applications shift and change over time depending on many factors, old backgrounds that were once approved may not be approved this time. Make sure to adapt them to any new species/site canon information. This also applies to images and face claims. NOTE: Please do not put [re-app] on your application when you reapply. That is for when you are switching Member Groups ONLY. Reapplying for a deleted character is not a re-app, it is a new application with a new character.

MY CHARACTER'S SPECIES COSTS MONEY NOW/I ALREADY BOUGHT THEIR SPECIES SLOT. DO I HAVE TO BUY A NEW ONE?
Yes. As mentioned above, once a character is deleted for inactivity they are completely gone from the site and applying for them again is treated as applying with a brand new character. This means that you will have to buy new species slots for them.

I HAD CREDITS ON MY ACCOUNT. ARE THEY GONE NOW?
Most people did not have credits on the deleted accounts or had very low amounts like the 500 beginner credits which I will not be refunding. However, a few of you had good-sized amounts. I have documented these and will give them to you if you let me know you want them. This is not something I normally do, so in the future make sure you're keeping your credits on your most active accounts.

WILL YOU GIVE US A WARNING BEFORE THE NEXT CLEAR?
I don't give warnings for many reasons. The main reason is that it's in the rules that if you don't post for 90 days, the account will be deleted. It's clear cut so there is no confusion and therefore there is no need for a warning. I also don't believe in them because they encourage people to rush to post with inactive characters they aren't otherwise playing at all, thus holding up plots and face claims for characters that may only be posted with once every 3 months solely to keep the accounts active, and I don't think that's fair to other players.

If you have any questions not covered above, feel free to PM or poke myself and/or Pherros on Discord.

~ As a small reminder, these will continue to be done regularly and not on any specific days or any specific timeframes, so make sure to keep an eye on your characters you want to keep and post on them before they reach 90 days. Currently there are several characters of existing players that are up for deletion again and I will probably do another clear very very soon.

I know I don't give warnings, but I was concerned maybe people don't realize that this is not a one-time thing, or think that because we just did one they are safe for awhile. If a character hasn't been posted on in 90 days, they could be deleted at any time, so make sure you're posting and keeping your plots up! ~
